Planning Vs Taking Action: What is the right balance?

Do you have the right balance do you think between planning and taking action?

Sometimes we can really look at the huge pile of jobs that we need to do or, this comes into real application when are trying to get a project off the ground. We are trying to launch a business or maybe your training for something like climbing a mountain and sometimes you can sit at the bottom of that proverbial mountain and you can say “God there is such a long way to go” and then you can really sit down and you can plan on all of your stuff and try and work out how to do it perfectly so that you know it’s going to happen and if you just keep on planning that little bit more then you know that you don’t have to take that first step and you don’t have to find out what’s going to go wrong and you don’t have to find out if you’re going to get it right to or if you gonna need to do something else because as long as you’re planning it. Then you know you’re in a safe space right.

The thing is too much planning gets in the way of action. And action is the only way that you can find out if something is going to work or not.

Today I want you to think about the thing that you want to achieve and just take one step towards it.

What is that one bit of action that you can take TODAY to create the inertia and momentum?

For example, I’m planning a conference and my friend Vic and we were planning and planning and then I said you know I’m just gonna email someone and invite them to be a speaker. And off we went. We had momentum.

What’s the one thing that you could do today to create some momentum in an area of your life that is sticking?
